KLMA – Relations with Military Recruiters, Postsecondary Institutions, and Prospective Employers

This policy is established by the Board of Education to provide reasonable guidelines for military recruiters, postsecondary institutions, and prospective employers to have access to high school level buildings and high school level students during the school day for recruiting purposes. Access may be limited to maintain the balance between access and potential disruption of the overall educational environment.
All military recruiters, postsecondary institutions, and prospective employers shall be treated uniformly with regard to the conduct of on-campus student recruitment. All visits shall be scheduled in advance with the designated representative from each individual high school's counseling department or another department as designated by each individual high school. The counseling department shall designate a location for all such visits. A schedule of recruiters, postsecondary institutions, and prospective employers visiting may be provided on the individual school's website. Recruiters, postsecondary institutions, and prospective employers shall be allowed to meet during the school day with those students who are interested. All recruiters, postsecondary institution representatives and prospective employers shall comply with Board Policy KI (Visitors to Schools). Directory and other student information shall be released to recruiters in accordance with the provisions of Board Policy JRC. Originally Adopted: December 9, 2024
