- Financial Donations
- Booster clubs may establish private booster fund accounts in local banks without an accounting to the District. It is strongly recommended that an independent or internal audit conducted by an organization or person not associated with the District occur annually.
- Booster clubs should adopt and implement fiscally responsible and appropriate policies.
- Any money donated or expended on school programs by booster clubs must be deposited in the appropriate school or District account and will become the property of the District.
- Booster club moneys deposited with the school bookkeeper will become a part of each monthly accounting.
- Booster clubs are not allowed to issue personal checks or cash to coaches or activity advisors for any purpose. The procedure in #3 must be followed in order to expend money on meals, lodging, transportation or other expenses.
- Booster clubs should designate a school representative to serve as the liaison between the club and the school.
- Booster club fund‑raising projects must be approved first by the principal or the activity/athletic director.
- The use of raffles is strongly discouraged as evident by the stringent requirements for acquiring a bingo-raffle license as provided in C.R.S. §24-21-601, et seq. and its corresponding regulations. Ifa booster organization wishes to conduct a raffle, it shall comply with all state laws and regulations in doing so.
- Booster organizations using student participation to raise funds shall keep all revenue in local school accounts.
- Building and supply donations
- Booster clubs may purchase equipment or supplies to give or loan to a school for its use providing:
- Such items are approved by the principal or his or her designee. When determining whether such items should be approved, the principal or his or designee shall consider and ensure that benefits, services, treatment, and overall opportunities, regardless of funding sources, are equivalent for male and female athletes, as mandated by Title IX.
- All purchases meet District specifications prior to purchase.
- The District will reserve the right to accept or reject permanent ownership of any approved donated equipment from a booster club.
