KDD-R – Media Relations

Favorable publicity by media representatives (photographers, newspapers, radio and television) is an important component of the continuous public relations programs of the schools. Personnel in the individual schools should give full cooperation to media representatives. However, it is necessary that certain safeguards be established in order to prevent misunderstandings.
  1. Media representatives must report to the principal or assistant principal before taking pictures or interviewing people on the school grounds or in the school building.
  2. If there are any questions regarding the use of interviews or pictures by media representatives, the principal should call the office of communication services.
News media representatives are encouraged to make contacts with central office personnel through the office of communications services. The coordinator of communications will see that such inquiries are promptly referred to the appropriate individual or office. Adoption Date: July 13, 1981 Last Revised: May 01, 1991
