Because schools are an important aspect of the community and because the residents and stakeholders of the District are interested in the programs and activities of the schools, the Board and the District shall:
- Keep pertinent stakeholders informed about the policies, administrative operations, objectives and educational programs of the District.
Maintain transparency by providing full and accurate information, favorable and unfavorable, together with interpretation and explanation of school plans and programs, including finances to stakeholders. - In meeting these goals, the Board places great importance upon the role of the teachers and principals in communicating information about school programs to pertinent stakeholders. Further, the Board recognizes that there are times when direct communication between school administrators and stakeholders is necessary. When these occasions arise, the Board expects the Communications Office to serve as the liaison for stakeholder communications, including the media.
The Communications Office shall work with the Superintendent to develop procedures and techniques for ensuring timely communication between the District and the District's stakeholders.
