JJH – Student Travel

Specific guidelines and appropriate administrative procedures shall be developed to screen, approve, and evaluate student activity trips and to ensure that all reasonable steps are taken for the safety of the student participants.
These guidelines and procedures shall ensure that all student activity trips have the approval of the principal and that all overnight trips, out-of-state trips, and out-of-country trips have the prior approval of both an executive director of elementary education or secondary education and the Director of Risk Management or said Director's designee. All out-of-state and out-of-country trips shall require trip insurance for individual student participants, which may be purchased through the travel vendor for the trip.
