A student may enter kindergarten if they are five (5) years old on or before October 1 of the year of enrollment.
A student who is four (4) years old on or before the District's start date for kindergarten and who has been identified as a highly gifted student in accordance with applicable state law may enroll in kindergarten, if it is determined through the early access assessment process that placement of the student in kindergarten is appropriate.
Students enrolling in the first grade may enter if they are six (6) years old on or before October 1 or may be permitted to enroll in first grade if the student attended at least 120 days of kindergarten in another state. A student who is five (5) years old on or before the District's start date for first grade and who has been identified as a highly gifted student in accordance with applicable state law may enroll in first grade, if it is determined through the early access or the early entrance into first grade assessment process that placement of the student in first grade is appropriate.
Proof of age, including, but not limited to, a birth certificate or other certificate showing the date of birth, adoption record, parent affidavit or other acceptable record(s), as determined by the Admissions Office shall be required for enrollment age verification. A District principal or designee will make exceptions to these entrance age requirements in accordance with state law pertaining to the education of military children.
