The Board seeks to educate students in the democratic tradition, to foster a recognition of individual freedom and social responsibility, and to inspire a meaningful awareness of and respect for the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights and the Colorado Constitution.
Freedom of individual conscience, association, and expression will be encouraged, and fairness in procedures shall be observed to safeguard the legitimate interests and objectives of a democratic society as set forth in the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Colorado.
The final responsibility in the determination of academic freedom in District schools rests solely with the Board.
