I. District Guidelines
Staff members are expected to dress to ensure employee safety while working, create a professional appearance for parents, students, and members of the public, promote a positive learning environment, and limit distractions caused by inappropriate attire. Uniforms may be required for certain positions.
Building administrators have the authority to determine whether an individual staff member's dress is appropriate for a building. Any staff member who does not meet the standards set by this policy or a school or department will be required to take remedial measures, which may include leaving the premises to change clothing. Hourly-paid staff will not be compensated for any work time missed due to failure to comply with designated workplace attire standards. Any staff member who does not meet the standards set by a school or department may also be subject to corrective action, up to and including termination.
Additionally, staff members are required to carry or wear a District-issued identification card at all times while on District property or when acting as a District employee.
