Copyright laws exist to protect the creativity and productivity of all individuals who share their original works with others.
Because we respect the rights of those who contribute to the common welfare, the Cherry Creek School District supports, enforces and abides by all of the provisions of all current copyright laws.
- Copyrighted materials, print or non-print, may not be duplicated unless such duplication meets all copyright use standards.
- Illegal duplication of any print or non-print material cannot be sanctioned in any form.
- Disregard of the copyright laws places an employee in violation of District policy and in the position of being personally responsible for all risk of liability.
- Materials written by employees who serve on District committees or by employees who develop materials during the performance of their duties or during time for which they were compensated by the District may not be copyrighted by the individual and no royalties may be paid to the individual.
