ECB-R-1 – Buildings, Grounds, Parking and Maintenance

  1. All building administrators are asked to report all maintenance requirements to the supervisor of maintenance.
  2. The supervisor of maintenance will be responsible for establishing a rotating maintenance schedule which insures that each building will be serviced periodically by the maintenance staff.
  3. Each building administrator will be responsible for inspecting the condition of his physical plant, evaluating the quality of the custodial staff's work as well as identifying areas requiring maintenance.
  4. The supervisor of maintenance will conduct periodic inspections of all school buildings, with or without the building administrator, to identify the quality of the custodial staff's work and to identify areas requiring maintenance. He should visit at least one building each day.
Traffic and Parking Procedures The Board of Education desires to provide safe play areas and school grounds for students and the community. Therefore, no unauthorized motorized vehicles or horses will be permitted in these areas. Use of recreational vehicles on parking lots or driveways may be authorized only by the building principal and Superintendent. Permitted delivery or emergency vehicles must use extreme caution in restricted areas. Appropriate signs to this effect will be maintained in the areas. Cars should be parked only in authorized parking areas during school hours. The parking space at each school will be designated by the principal. Care should be taken to see that cars are not parked close to the building exits at any time while school is in session. Access to fire lanes must be maintained free and clear.
