CHD – Administration in the Absence of Policy

In situations which arise where no Board policy exists, the Superintendent shall have power to act or to advise action to a subordinate. His decisions shall be subject to review by the Board at its regular meetings. It shall be the duty of the Superintendent to inform the Board promptly of such action. In situations which arise where no Board policy or administrative regulations exist, the responsible administrator shall have the authority to act. His action should be based upon the advice and counsel of the Superintendent and staff or their representatives when such advice is available and deemed desirable.
